And I'm glad that Christmas brought it on my path, because else I might have never read it. And today this story was what I wanted, what I needed and what my soul and heart longed for. But sometimes that's not what we need anyway. The characters aren't layered or complicated or incredibly interesting. And once I did read the last page I had this very nice and pleasant warm feeling in my chest. It's just lovely and adorable and although there are some dramatic moments, especially because Onyx isn't the most confident person in the world and because some high school girls are just bitches, it's mostly a story that made me smile and feel great and happy. It's the perfect story to read on a bad day. The result is a cute and sweet story about a girl who lost faith in Christmas and in guys, rightly so. The story is slightly addictive and because it's not too long it never drags or feels like it's just filled with scenes that don't add much to the story. I wanted to know how this story would finish, although I already had some ideas of course. However, I love the Jewels Cafe series and I was so happy when I won this one for Christmas!Īnd this morning I just started reading and I was so sad when I reached work and had to quit. Since contemporary isn't really my thing, I wasn't entirely sure about this book. Books I expect to be five star reads all of a sudden disappoint and books I'm not that sure about all of a sudden grasp me and refuse to let go.
